This is the online presence of ding
dong...you're wrong, New York's source for rock action.
Until
it's back on the air, this is the only place you'll find the quality
you've come to expect from the DDYW brand, now compacted, rendered and
all but destroyed for your Internet enjoyment.
UPDATED
Feb 01 05 -- WAIT, 05?!?! That is a disgrace. For the latest, head here. I'll update this when I can. I promise. |

Mix The Mind Control With Some
Sugar According to the Mercury Lounge's website, Dear Leader is playing an
early set on February 9th. Nothing about it on the Dear Leader site
yet, but I recommend reading their message board, which is weirdly
culty, yet fascinating. Of particular interest to me was this one post
accusing Aaron Perrino of not being especially nice to/interested in
certain fans. No one backed the accuser up in what sounds to me like a
ridiculous allegation, but I like to pretend that it is true and I am
special.
I Got Lost Out In The Snow Um, why did I
have no idea that Joel
Plaskett had a new album, or that it was called La De Da or that it is out on
February 22 (2.22!)? Hmm? Well, now I know. And so do you.
Looking Forward 'Til Next Time Sloan will tour again, children of the world. They are playing Coachella on May 1, then will be pushing their CD/DVD package all over this great land. And Canada. Watch their site for more dates, and get it while the getting is good.
I Know You Seen Me On The Video What's that? An ON TV update?
You don't say! Oh, but I do. Hot hot videos for hot hot people like you,
foxy. Get it, girl; you know what you love.
Down With
O.P.I.? No, not the nail polish. While I enjoy beauty products as
much as the next girl, the last thing we need here is an entire
recurring feature on one brand of nail polish. Obviously. Instead,
O.P.I. stands for Other People's Interviews, a genius (if borderline
illegal? Help me out here) idea I have wherein ... READ MORE
And
On That Note If you need a little Danko Jones try before you buy,
Simba Recordings
will let you listen if you ask real nice. Or, you know, just go to the
Danko Jones page.
Don't Turn Your Back On Kiki! She'd die
for you, you know. And she did, just so her portrayer could go to St.
Martin's College like a right Pulp dork. It's OK, though, because even
those who missed the gorgeous sendoff at Carnegie Hall can now (re)live
it on double CD.
Return Of The Mack That's me! You may have already
read this in the trades, but I'll confirm it here. Ding Dong... You're
Wrong will return to televisions this spring. Believe it. What this
means for New Yorkers, besides a reason to keep living, is non-stop rock
on your TV and, likely, an annoying girl filming at your next rock show.
What this means for non-NYers, besides cursing your geographical fate
(again) is new and dramatically improved online video content. I even
ordered me a Firewire 4 to 6 ping whatever. That's tech talk. About
equipment. How's that for hotness?
Almost Believe That
They're Real If you're into really bad pictures (and who isn't?),
you now have a new place to get your fix, my photo log Optio
Illusions. Content added often.
We're Not Into
Drugs, And The Rock & Roll Part Is Obvious Sexxxay.com has been
obtained. We're not at liberty to discuss the specifics of this upcoming
site just yet, but it's going to be good. And it's going to keep
DDYWNYC.com clean. Everyone wins. Look for it March 1.
What Comes Is Better Than What Came Before Yes, Virginia.
There is an archive, but it's under construction right now. Just enjoy
what you have, can't you? For once??!?!
Links! There are some new ones, yes. Can
you find them? I bet you can.
Talk about all this and more at
the DDYWNYC board, where all the
cool kids hang.
